Long Term Care
MediCal
This is NOT a health insurance program. Instead, it pays for a long term care in a nursing home, i.e., when you are no longer able to care for yourself, but are not ill. This program pays for those who did not have long term care insurance. The program pays a fixed amount every month towards such care, presently about $4700 per month. The factors that most affect your ability to qualify for this program are the income and liquid assets.
